During this training you’ll learn how to apply a widely diffused mushroom to enhance energy generation from biogas industries. The principle is very simple: a widespread mushroom is added to a substrate (highly available in turn) for preparing the mixture. Then, this mixture is added to anaerobic composting vessels, in order to boost energy generation during the process. The solution is expected to generate 25% to 35% more energy starting with the very same amount of raw materials. The application allows to achieve another great result. During the process, the mushroom enhances the degradation of many micro-pollutants and toxic chemicals. So, the final digestate is much safer.
Biosolids in sewage sludge are a top priority, like every micro-pollutant can be found into the environment. This issue is even more relevant to the environment and public health because such contaminated sludge is applied on crop fields, as a fertilizer. Although rich of very important nutrients, this application on the ground brings a load of pollutants along. So, it’s very important to remove these chemicals. This can be done by working on two different targets.
The first target is the sewage water treatment system. In other words, biosolids may be trapped into a filter so preventing their direct transfer into the sludge. Unfortunately, still there aren’t so effective filters, so we can expect that a significant amount of these micro-pollutants are found in the sludge that will later applied on crop fields.
